At Invictus Prep, we are committed to developing the whole child, and providing opportunities for growth beyond the classroom. We celebrate the uniqueness of each child, and we believe that children learn through movement and exploration. Our well-rounded team of educators is equipped to instill curiosity and courage as we lead students to discover the areas of community service, the visual, performing, and digital arts, and a variety of athletic opportunities.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The Invictus Preparatory Charter School Chapter of NJHS has 27 outstanding members.

Each year, our entire student body participates in the election of student government officers, to work alongside faculty in the service of our school community. Currently, we have 22 active members of Student Government. The mission of Invictus Prep's Student Government organization is to develop and promote leadership abilities, build awareness and respect for all people, and create activities to generate school pride and participation.

Organized sports keep children healthy not only physically, but mentally as well. Athletic involvement has been found to enhance brain development, as well as build confidence, develop focus, and teach kids emotional control. Athletics at Invictus Prep have built a sense of school spirit, and are a source of fun for the entire school community.

Our Boys and Girls Basketball Teams participate in the Charter School Athletic Association (CSAA) League. The 2015-2016 season was our girls’ inaugural season, and our boys’ second season. We are proud to announce that the girls finished 5th in the league, while our boys finished 2nd, and advanced onto the Regional Finals.

Invictus Prep’s co-ed soccer season is about to kick off! We look forward to the school’s first season as a participant in the CSAA League.

Flag Football
In the fall, Invictus Prep’s first co-ed Flag Football team made its mark in the CSAA, and we look forward to the 2016 football season!

Martial Arts
We provide Martial Arts as an elective, giving students the opportunity to build skills and practice focus and self-discipline. Our martial arts instructor holds 7 black belts and introduces students to elements of various martial arts disciplines.

We have integrated visual art, music, dance, and photography into our daily schedule. We encourage and equip students to explore various styles of artistic expression, and we provide ample opportunities for them to discover new ways to tell their stories.

Visual Art
The visual art curriculum incorporates many styles and techniques, including painting, drawing, sculpting, and mixed media. Social and historical themes are woven through the art curriculum. We regularly display the artistic work of our scholar artists and celebrate their accomplishments.

Invictus Prep’s music program is led by a trained classical musician with an appreciation for modern forms of music and popular culture. Our young musicians are given the opportunity to explore music history and theory, and to compose and perform music for the school community.

Styles of dance from around the world are explored in a social-historical context and then practiced by our dancers. Invictus Prep’s dance instructor is active in New York’s performing arts community as an actress, dancer, director, and choreographer. Elements of stage performance are incorporated into dance instruction, and our dancers then have the opportunity to choreograph and perform for the school community.

There are so many great things happening at Invictus Prep that we keep a professional photographer and videographer on staff to capture them! Photography classes are offered in the afternoons for scholars with an interest in digital photography. We equip our photographers with state of the art cameras, instruct them on image composition and the technical elements of the art, and then release them to capture the world as they see it.

Invictus Prep is partnered with the Italian American Civil Rights League (IACRL) to provide a robust, fully funded on-site after school program, exclusive to our students. The IACRL has built out a program of varied opportunities for our students, including daily homework help, field trips, special events and celebrations, as well as a marching band and cheerleading squad! The IPCS Drum Line and cheerleaders have brought an authentically collegiate feel to our exciting athletic events.
